WRESTLING
COX AND JONES DRAW (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) PALMERSTON N., July 20. King Kong Cox, the man reputed to be straight from the Jungle, and Paul ‘‘Python Legs” Jones, the Texan, wrestled before a crowded'house in Palmerston North tonight, and the decision was a draw after eight hectic rounds. Cox, who appeared to be not unlike the “Manassa Mauler” Jack Dempsey In appearance, except that he is shorter arid thicker, pinned his faith to twisted headlocks which he went for at all times with the idea of weakening his opponent, but in the fifth round Jones wrapped his "python” legs round Cox who soon submitted to a hooked body scissors* In the seventh round Cox was the aggressor all the way, and after halehing Jones round the ring he picked up his legs and went over for the equalising fall, using the-Boston Crab, to which Jones soon gave in. BLOMFIELD V. FORSTER ON WEDNESDAY The contest that has been arranged for next Wednesday at the Theatre Royal between Lofty Blomfield, the New Zealand champion, and Frank Forster, of South Africa, is sure to be attended by all followers of the sport. This bout will undoubtedly provide first-class entertainment, and a demonstration of the technique for which these two wrestlers have both earned a reputation.
