The barometer was steady, with the reading at 5 p.m. 29.68 inches (1005 millibars). Wellington: Although an improvement on the previous day, the weather yesterday was overcast and cold, with occasional showers during the morning. There was a moderate southerly breeze. The maximum temperature was 43.7 degrees. At 3 p.m. the temperature was 42.4 degrees, and the barometer at 1008.3 millibars. Dunedin: There was a sharp frost yesterday morning, and temperatures were cold throughout the day, though there was practically no wind. The maximum temperature was 45 degrees. In the morning the sun shone through scattered clouds, but the sky was overcast in the afternoon. The barometer fell in the morning, but was steady later at 29 inches.
