TRAINING FLIGHT OVER FRANCE
* ROYAL AIR FORCE BOMBERS TWELVE SQUADRONS TAKE PART (Received July 20, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 19. Twelve squadrons of Royal Air Force bombers made a second training flight to France with their destination the Mediterranean near Marseilles. Thirty-six of the bombers passed over Paris at 11.30 a.m., .flying very low. Five squadrons of Wellington bombers flew to Marseilles and back, a distance of 1500 miles, at a speed of 180 miles an hour. Others made a three-hour flight to Chartres and back. French anti-aircraft crews manned the defences. All the machines returned at nightfall without mishap. In the House of Commons the Secretary of State for Air (Sir Kingsley Wood) was asked whether it was proposed to arrange Air Force practice flights over Poland, Turkey, Rumania, and other countries, states a British Offlcial Wireless message.
