DINNER PARTY
As a “curtain-raiser" to the Medbury Old Boys’ annual dance, Mr Sangar Holmes, president of the Old Boys’ Association, and Miss Gwynneth Holmes entertained a number of friends at an enjoyable dinner party at the United Service hotel, and later all the guests attended the dance. Those present were Misses Holmes, Marjorie Hill. Amuri Johnstone (Canada), Cushla Rutherford, Jose Wotherspoon, Nancy Maling, Messrs Holmes, Mawson Stewart, Dennis Hamilton, Peter Norris, James Stewart, Jack Farthing, Keeley Jameson, and Rik Rutherford. FAREWELL PARTY Mrs T. B. Strong, who will leave soon for a holiday visit to Europe and England, was the guest of honour at an afternoon tea party given at Ballantynes yesterday by the committee of the women’s branch of the Citizens’ Association. Those who gathered to wish her a pleasant journey were Mesdames Hamilton, Perry, Grigg, Simmonds, Hobbs, Presland.i Watts, White. ■
