HERR HITLER WELCOMES JUGOSLAV REGENT
BERLIN, June 1. Herr Hitler, Field-Marshal Goring, and Herr von Ribbentrop welcomed the Regent of Jugoslavia (Prince Paul) and Princess Olga, initiating lavish celebrations. Schools, stores, factories, and offices in Berlin are closed and the populace has been ordered to join in the public welcome. , . Herr Hitler, in a speech at a State banquet, guaranteed Jugoslavia s frontiers, saying that recent historic events had made the two countries neighbours with common borders, established for all time. Prince Paul, replying, said the visit demonstrated. Jugoslavia s determination to live and work with the German people in an atmosphere of peace and friendship, and for this reason he welcomed Herr Hitler’s assurances that Germany intended to respect Jugoslavia’s freedom and independence, as well as her frontier*.
