STAMP COMPETITION AT MUSEUM
♦ ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARDS Awards in a stamp competition for school children, conducted by the education officer at the Canterbury Museum (Mr G. Guy) were announced by Mr Guy yesterday. The competition was for postage stamps illustrating objects of interest in the study ot natural history. The prize-winning entries will be I on display lor a fortnight at the museum. There-arc also displayed pages from the collections of Messrs T. H. Layton and S. R. Dacre, members of the Christchurch Philatelic Society. The awards were as follows: Forms IV, V, Vl—Natural history topic; D. B. Kibblewhite (Timaru Boys’ High School) 1. Special prizes: N. Langstone (Christchurch West High School), R. Boundy (Christchurch Technical College). Group B: B. T. Cunningham (Christchurch West High School). 1, D. B. Kibblewhite (Timaru Bovs’ High School). Forms I, 11. Ill— Natural history topic: A. Irvine (Timaru Boys’ High) 1, M. McCaskill (Shirley Intermediate) 2. Group B: B. Billens- (Shirley Intermediate) 1, T. Harper*(Shirley Intermediate) 2. Special prize for youngest competitor—K. Cunningham (Linwood Avenuc). __________________
