* LOCKE BEATS WHITCOMBS TELEVISION RECORD OF PLAY (Received June 2, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 1. In a 72-hole match for £SOO a side, Bobby Locke beat R. A. Whitcombe, 6 up and 5. Whitcombe was 1 up at the fortyfifth hole, after which he was constantly in trouble. Part of the match was televised, says a British Official Wireless message. Cameras recorded the drives from two tees, the approaches and putting at one hole, and the play through at another. Three cameras were used, two being mobile, so that the players could be closely followed. I ' 1
