TAXATION OP PENSIONER

TO THB XDITOK 0* TH* FM.I3S. Sir, —Reading in “The Press” this morning about old age pensioners having to pay taxation and registration fees, I turn to the Social Security charge declaration form and read paragraph 4; “Incdfrie exempt: (a) Pensions and other benefits under the Social Security Act, 1938, or enactments repealed thereby.” The Employment Promotion and Old Age Pension Acts were repealed thereby. I take it the exemptions under the Old Age Pension Act still hold good—Yours, etc., PENSIONER. May 8, 1938.
