CANTERBURY AUTO-CYCLE CLUB FUlures 'April 23—ME. record attempts. : May 3—Annual meeting. | Mav IT —Annual smoke concert. May 21 —Experts and invitation sporting triaL At dawn to-morrow enthusiasts from all over the South Island will gather at Aylesbury on the occasion of the Mew Zealand road speed record attempts. .Approximately 12 riders will take part, and it is anticipated that speeds of well over IQO miles an hour will be registered. The classes will be as follows; 250 c.c. 350 cc.. 500 C.C- 1000 ex, and open. As all machines will he limited to their respective classes, tne open event will be the mos, kcet-,‘ contested, as ail powers will oe exigible to compete. _ . Several visiting riders have arrived in Christchurch, including H. Munro, of Invercargill. All competitors must report at the Aylesbury station at 6.20 a m and intending participants are advised to be on time, as latecomers I will forfeit their chance of competing. I The annual meeting of the club will take place next Wednesday evening at the Builders' Chambers, Gloucester street. This will be the most important meeting yet held, as the outgoing committee has recommended a complete change of rules governing the : club. A full attendance of members ; is desired in order that the recommenI cations may be fully discussed. PIONEER MOTOR CLUB Fixtures Tomorrow <2 pm.)—Social pillion triaL April 30 (9.45 am.) —Sporting triaL May 13—Novelty afternoon. The coming week-end is occupied by two Pioneer Motor Club events, both in the nature of of the forthcoming three-day M.Z - A.C.U. reliability trial to be held over the King's Birthday week-end, both ■ to-morrow's and Sunday's events will provide excellent workouts for both riders and machines. A social and pillion, trial will he held to-morrow afternoon. Riders will leave the club rooms at 2 pm. sharp for Victoria Park, where some excellent observed sections have been selected, thence through Governors Bay, Teddington, Gebbie's Valley, and the Summit road, to Kennedy's Bush, where a stop for afternoon tea _ will be made at the Sign of the Bellbird. The return journey will take competitors back to Christchurch via the new Victoria Park road. Entertaining and instructive special tests, observed sections, etc- will be held at different points along the whole journey. Sunday's event, a whole-day fixture, will be more serious, and will lead competitors farther afield. The route qejpApd is to Kangiora via the back road, thence through Lobum and Glentui to Ashley Gorge, where a stop will be held for lunch, after which, competitors will be taken through the Waimakariri Gorge back to Christchurch over the old West Coast road. The n<nal features of this type of sporting triaL start and re-stop tests, observed sections, and other riding and reliability tests, will be carried out. and competitors and their friends are assured of an Interesting day's sport. Pillion passengers may be carried, and they have the option of dismounting for observed sections and tests. As the position of several competitors for the club's challenge cups is very dose, there will doubtless be a keen entry in both of these events over the week-end, as both trials count for points in the Bonnington and Moir Cup competitions. An announcement regarding the Hate* of tfae 100-mile beach race and the New Zealand quarter-mile track championships will be made shortly. Both of these events are receiving a great deal of interest from local grasstrack and beach-racing exponents, and it is anticipated that entries "win be of a very high standard. CORSAIR MOTOR CLUB . Fine weather, good handicapping. and excellent riding made the Moeraki T.T. meeting entirely soccessfuL M. Harris rode outstandingly, being scratch man throughout the day. In the Corsair Grand Challenge he established a new record for the course. Several newcomers performed creditably, particularly G. Ettrick, C. Skinner, and R. Ashcroft.
