Mr and Mrs Herbert Corry (Yaldham Lodge, Kemsing, Kent) will arrive in Christchurch on Friday morning and will be the guests of Sir Cyril and Lady Ward, Merivale, for Easter. Mr Corry is chairman of directors of the Port Line, Ltd. Mr and Mrs Jack Anderson (Dunedin) will arrive in Christchurch, on Saturday and will be the guests of Miss D. Anderson, “Inveresk,” Armagh street west, for Easter. Mr and Mrs H. Mitchell (Wellington) will arrive in Christchurch on Friday, and will be the guests of the Hon. Mr Justice North croft and Mrs Northcroft, Park terrace, for the Easter holidays.

■ Mr E. B. Bohan, of the Bank of Australasia, and Mrs Bohan and family will leave on April 17 for Invercargill, to which town Mr Bohan has been transferred on promotion. Mr Bohan has been for some years honorary treasurer of the Sanatorium Service Society, for which he has done much good work. Miss Maberley Beadel (Merivale lane) will be the guest of Miss Veda McClure, Wellington, for the autumn foursomes golf tournament to be played at Lower Hutt, beginning on April 18. Miss Eileen Nutt (Manchester street north) will also play in the tournament, and will be Miss Beadel’s partner.

Mr and Mrs J. W. Niven (St. Albans) left last night for Wellington. Miss Valmai Fleming (Rugby street) and Miss Helen Buchanan (Fendalton) will be competitors at the autumn foursome golf tournament at Lower Hutt this month. They will play together. Miss Buchanan will be the guest of Mrs Guy Williams, Heretaunga. Mrs Trayers-Till (Wellington) is the guest of her mother, Mrs A. E. Talbot (Gloucester street). Mrs J. H.. Bethune (Merivale) returned yesterday from a visit to her daughter, ■ Mrs Cecil Quane, Wellington.

Mr J. G. D. Ward and Miss Theresa Ward (Merivale lane), who attended the Government House garden party in Wellington last week, have returned to Christchurch. Miss Errol Cropper (Auckland) will arrive in Christchurch this week to attend the Hay-Buchanan wedding on Wednesday. Mrs M. T. Lawlor (Bishop street) is visiting her daughter, Mrs G. McCulloch, “Quamby,” Waimate. Miss Dell Anderson (Sydney) arrived from the North Island yesterday to visit Mrs A. V. White-Par-sons, Lyttelton. She and Miss Win White-Parsons will leave on Friday for Mount Cqok.

Miss Margaret Selby (Aylesbury) will spend Easter with her uncle in Auckland and will leave Sydney by the Strathnaver for England to visit her brother, who is a member of the Royal Air Force, y Miss Edna White-Parsops (Lyttelton) will be the guest of Mrs, R. Lewis (Porirua) for the autumn foursomes golf ’tournament at Lower Hutt this month. She and Mrs Lewis will play together. Miss Jean Horwell (Timaru) and Miss Susanna Collins (Wairarapa) will play togcth6r, Mrs A. H. Sandrey (Methven) will leave to-night for Wellington, where she will join the Arawa for a trip to Great Britain. Mrs Sandrey, who is a member of the Women’s Institute party, will attend the conference of the Associated Country Woihen of the World, to be held in London in June.

Mr Allen Wellbrock, the talented pianist, will entertain in _ the lounge of the United Service Hotel m the late afternoon and during dinner throughout .the Easter Holidays. ~~ b

Mr and Mrs G. Brooke and Miss Joy Brooke have arrived in Christchurch from Tapanui, Otago, for the Brooke-Shackleton wedding, which will take place next Saturday. Mrs Sarsfield Flood (Dunedin), who, with her two daughters, Misses V. and I. Flood, have been attending the jubilee celebrations of the Ladbrooks School, has been the guest of her mother, Mrs Berry, Worcester street.

Miss Jean Horweli (Timaru) will be the guest of Miss Valmai Fleming, Rugby street, for the golf tournament in Easter week. Miss Kathleen Larcomb will arrive from Wellington on Friday and will stay with her parents, Mr and Mrs A. R. Larcomb', “Hambleden, Bealey avenue, for her sister’s wedding on Monday. She will leave on Wednesday for Greymouth. Mrs T; Macdonald (Invercargill), Mrs Arthur Welch, Mrs Jack Seelye, and Mr and Mrs E. Macandrew will be visitors to Christchurch next week for the wedding of Miss Joyce Burt and Mr Walter Thacker. Mrs Macdonald will stay with Mrs J. J. Brownlee, Cashel street. Miss Moira A. Woods (Mount Eden, Auckland) left on Monday for Suva, where she will take up the position of assistant-mistress at the Suva Girls’ Grammar School. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was conferred in Wellington, at a meeting of the University Senate, as she will not be able to be present for the capping ceremony.

Misses Margaret Mastertqn, Pamela Stewart, Joyce Georgetti, Gweneth Wall, Cherry Hollingworth, Lorna White, and Priscilla Tiffen were debutantes this week at a ball in Hastings arranged by the Hawke’s Bay branches of the Woodford House Old Girls’ Association and Christ’s College Old Boys’ Association.

Miss Mary Latham (Armagh street west) will leave to-day for a short visit to Wanganui.

Mrs H. Rinaldi (Kaiapoi) is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs D. Murgatroyd. Petone. Mr and Mrs Reid Fagan (Woodham road) and Misses Doreen and Betty Doody (St. Albans street) will leave this week for a visit to Auckland.
