BADMINTON
The Sumner Badminton Club opened its first season in the Sumner Town Hall with a good attendance of members. There w&s a good attendance of representatives from the Sports Club, to whom a warm welcome was extended by the president (Mr G. E. Tregenza). Mr Tregenza apologised for the unavoidable absence of the Mayor (Mr J. E. Tait) and said that favourable arrangements had been made with the Borough Council for the- use of the Town Hall every Tuesday. The prospects for the new club were very promising. He then welcomed the mem. , bers of the Devonshire Badminton Club, .who gave the first exhibition games*
