MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB 1 hj E. J. MOSS APPOINTED PROFESSIONAL (PBXSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, April 4. The well-known professional golfer, E. J. Moss, has been appointed professional to the Maungakiekie Golf Club. Moss has had a successful playing career. In 1921 he was 'runner-up to E. S. Douglas in both the New Zealand professional and open championships, and on three occasions since then has won both events. He won the open in 192 fi, 1927, and 1933. He was professional champion for fhree successive years. 19 23-24-25. Moss came to Auckland in 1920, and was attached to the Auckland Club -for 16 years, during, which period he had many brilliant rounds. WAIMAIRI BEACH CLUB In the first round of the Horwell Cup foursome played at Waimairl Beach over the week-end, F. H. Shipley and E. H. Gregg beat W, Prew and J. Greenslade, R. H. Lake and D. C. Parker beat R. L. Calvert and L. Calvert, H. M. Brown and W. H. King beat M. Smith and R. McKay. A Stableford handicap was won by G. H. Christie. The best cards were those of G. H.
