♦_— CANTERBURY RECORD BROKEN SUCCESS OP N. J. DAVISON N. J. Davison, of the East Christchurch Swimming Club, made a successful attempt on Monday evening on the 889 yards Canterbury intermediate freestyle record. He swam the distance in 12mm 13 4-ssec, clipping 91 2-sseo off the existing record. In a further attempt on Wednesday evening he brought the record down to 12min G 2-ssec, EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB Competition was keen In the final Dalton Cup series of the East Christchurch Swimming Club 1 at the club baths recently. Twelve starters fought for places in the. 880 yards final. Good handicapping resulted in both heats being won on the touch.
