GRADUATE MARRIED
WEDDING OF WINNER OF TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP
(PBHS3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 15. A tour that is to be at once a honeymoon and the result of signal success at the Auckland University College is to be begun next Tuesday by Mr T, F. Haughey, of Auckland. On the eve of his marriage, which took place tonight, Mr Haughey received advice that he had been awarded the New Zealand University’s travelling scholarship in architecture, which will enable him to pursue post-graduate studies in his profession for two years overseas. Mr Haughey was married to Miss Marjorie Pettit, M.A., a daughter of Dr. W. H. Pettit, of Ponsonby road, and also a graduate of Auckland University College. On Tuesday, Mr and Mrs Haughey will leave Auckland by the Niagara, and will spend about six weeks in the United States before going on to England. , Mr Haughey particularly wants to study the architectural side of the San Francisco International Exposition. : In England, Mr Haughey intends to follow in the footsteps of a previous holder of the scholarship, Mr R. H. .Toy, also of Auckland, who is to leisure in architecture at Auckland University College when he returns to New Zealand. Mr Haughey, therewill advance his thesis for the decree of Master of Arts in Architecture at Liverpool University.
