The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at’s p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: — Light to moderate and variable winds, with north-easterly predominating. Some morning fogs probable, but weather otherwise fine and mild to warm. Seas slight. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate and variable winds, with north-easterlies predominating. Weather fair to fine and mild. Seas slight. * DOMINION The forecast for the Dominion is as follows: f Fair to fine In most districts, and mild and warm. A little light rain possible, however, in the far north and south-west coastal areas. Some morning fogs. Pressure is again high over all the New Zealand area. In south-eastern Australia it is falling. Conditions are disturbed also in the tropics. Winds—Strong easterlies in the far north, otherwise light to moderate and variable, with south-east to northeast predominating. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough to rough north of the Bay of Plenty, otherwise slight to moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and warm. After a rather humid, overcast morning, the sun shone brilliantly in the afternoon, but the sky clouded over again in the evening. There was only a light breeze from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 70.6 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast, with a light easterly wind. The temperature was 57 degrees.
