WOOL IMPROVES IN LONDON INVESTMENTS STILL SLOW Improved prices for crossbreds and steady rates for merinos were received at the opening day of the March London wool sales. There was a good selection, and the demand was keen, particularly from the Home trade. Crossbreds were in sellers’ favour and merinos were steady. All classes of sheep met a better sale at Addington yesterday. Breeding ewes improved over last week’s sale, but were not up to Sheffield levels. A small entry of fat sheet met higher prices and fat lambs sold well.
Government issues showed some movement on the Christ-\ church Stock Exchange yesterday, but otherwise the market continued dull, with little business. Prices on the whole were firm, and some Australian stocks were firmer.
