ARMED CONFLICT IN PALESTINE
TROOPS FIGHT ENGAGEMENT WITH TERRORISTS
JERUSALEM, March 12,
A message from Amman, on the Transjordan frontier, states that the •police, the Arab legion, and 15 Air Force aeroplanes routed a large body of uniformed Arab terrorists. The battle began at 11.3 and ended at 12.3.
The British commander, Lieu-tenant-Colonel Chrystall, directed the troops from cn aeroplane, at which the terrorists fired, seriously wounding the pilot. Sergeant Coggins, who landed safely. A British officer, 40 terrorists, and four Arab legionaries are reported to have been killed.
