NETHERLANDS REPLY TO GERMANY
“OUTRAGES” ATTRIBUTED TO BOYS WITH CATAPULTS
(Received January 15, 8.10 p.m.)
THE HAGUE, January 14.
The Netherlands Foreign Office has issued a statement on the alleged anti-German outrages. The statement says it has been proved that no shot was fired at the German Legation at The Hague or at the Amsterdam consulate. A small hole in the window of a residence nearby was obviously caused by a pebble from a boy’s catapult. Many residents in the neighbourhood had recently complained of boys using catapults.
