GOLDEN DART WINS CUP (FRXSB ASSOCIATIOK TXSLEO&AJC.) GREYMOUTH, January 2. For the second day of the Greymouth Jockey Club's meeting there was fine weather and a large attendance. The track was slightly yielding. The totalisator handled £10,248. compared with £9136 10s, an increase of £llll 10s. For the meeting the total was £17.453, compared with £17,094, an increase of £359. The Greymouth Jockey Club experienced a most successful meeting, the day being.' fine and sunny, and there was spirited betting and excellent racfnf. An Easy Winner Wardress again proved her class in the Trial Stakes, and came home a comfortable winner after waiting on the leaders, The Duel and Tantivy, to the straight. Wardress won by a length from Papernilla. with Tantivy four lengths back. Metric was a fair fourth. Then came The Duel, who again faded in the run to the post. The winner is a five-year-old mare by Lord Warden from Chink. Pacers in Action - Lady Vasclyne and True Glow disputed the lead throughout the Dobson Trot Handicap, and in a good finish the former won well, by a length with the outside fancy. Wee Pal, finishing in third place two lengths away. Coleridge, Talak, True Pronto, and Hydraulic were the best of the remainder. Audo Girl, Peggy Petrova, Wild Deer, and After Me all failed to leave the mark correctly. A Good Race The Kettle Memorial Handicap was a splendid race, and resulted in a decisive Victory for the first day's winner Golden Dart. The Masquerader was the early leader from Rebel Chief, who took up the running after five furlongs from Land Raid. The Masquerader. Golden Dart, Kilrobe, and Roy Bun. Golden Dart collared the .leader inside the distance and drew out to ■win well by two lengths from Rebel Chief, with Roy Bun a neck away. Then came Kilrobe, who was never very prominent. Land Raid and The Masquerader in line, and Great Memory last. Garonne Shows Speed Garonne showed brilliance in winning the Blaketown Hack Handicap, making his third in succession. Cardplayer and Queen Linda disputed the lead to the straight, Avhere Garonne came on the scene and drew out to win going away by a length from Queen Linda, with Cardplayer three, lengths away. Real Lady, who received a set-back going into the back stretch, finished in fourth place, with • Gay Lyric next. An Easy Win With a track more to his liking than previously on the circuit, Gay Parade outsprinted the other runners in the Electric Handicap. Bon Tray and Arrowrose disputed the lead to the far turn, where Gay Parade took charge and wpn as he liked by three lengths from Papernilla who finished on gamely two .lengths clear of Arrowrose. Bon Tray weakened into fourth place. . Lady Vasclyne Scores Doable Lady Vasclyne completed the double m the New Year Trot Handicap, winning with the greatest of ease from the second fancy, Juliana. True Glow was the early leader from Tonioro, Lady Vasclyne, Coleridge, and Shadow Boy. tady Vasclyne took charge along the back and drew away to win by four lengths from Juliana, who* finished fast from the home turn, with Envious also finishing on two lengths back. Then came Shadow Boy, who weakened in the run home, True Glow, 3nd Kate Bingen. The winner is a four-year-old filly by Wrack from Vasiliki.

A Decisive Winner

Capricious waited on the leaders, Skyrina and Emmeline Girl, to the straight in the Dominion Handicap, where she drew out to score decisively l from Skyrina by half a length, with' Glenacre, who was well back in the running in the early stages, two lengths away. Then came Maroha and Emmeline Girl, who weakened in the run home. The winner, who races in the same colours as Defaulter, is a smart hack. Consistency Rewarded

Malvasia and Windward made all the running in the . Walton Memorial from the favourite. Palmyra, whose consistency was rewarded with a narrow victory from the outsider, Malvasia, by half a length. With Windward three lengths away third and Arrowrose fourth. The remainder were never in the picture.
