ASSAULT William John McLaughlin was ordered to come up for sentence within two years, a condition being that he take out ' a prohibition order, on a charge of assaulting his son, Edwin John. McLaughlin. Senior-Sergeant P. C. Felton said that the accused, who was a war pensioner, had “turned the festive season into ai. bedlam.” Under the influence of drink he had attacked his son with his fists and had struck his wife on the arm. DRUNKENNESS Charles Neilson was fined 20s for drunkenness. Angus McLean was fined 20s for a similar- offence.
