SERIES OF MISHAPS THREE PERSONS ADMITTED TO HOSPITALS (PBBSS ASSOCIATION TBLKOKAX.) CARTERTON, December 23. Through being flung from a motorcycle at Tauherenikau yesterday Charles Victor Bolstad, of Carterton, fractured his skull and received other injuries. Ke was admitted to the Greytown Hospital. His condition is serious. A collision between two cars occurred on Mangaroa Hill last night, and Alec McKenzie, of Carterton, was admitted to a private hospital suffering from severe cuts to the head and face. His condition is not serious. A railways transport lorry left the road and crash>i through a fence south of Wairarapa last night. The driver was admitted to the Masterton Hospital suffering from cuts and bruises. His condition is not serious. A Wairarapa South County truck, driven by L. J. Williams, collided with a car driven by a native named Hadfield, of Gladstone, on Gladstone bridge this morning. Three adults and five children were injured, though none seriously, when two motor-cars came into a side-on collision at the intersection of Gillies and Epsom avenues, Epsom, about 8 o’clock this morning. A baby aged four weeks and another child were admitted to hospital, and five others were treated at the casualty department. The driver of the larger car, Cedric Sparks, aged 23, a miner employed at Glen Afton collieries, received lacerations to a hand and a cut on the face. With him were Eileen Douglas, aged 18, now suffering from shock, Winifred Douglas, aged 11 (who received lacerations to a leg), and Ivy Douglas, aged eight (concussion and head injuries). The last-mentioned is in hospital. The driver of the smaller car was Jack Dunbier, aged 32, a traveller, of Auckland. With him were his wife and son, aged three, and a baby boy aged four weeks. The latter is in hospital suffering from concussion and shock.

COLLISION ON TRAFFIC BRIDGE CAR AND TRUCK INVOLVED A collision occurred on the Ashburton traffic bridge shortly after 10 o clock last evening between a motortruck driven by James Keith, a farmer of Willowby, and a motor-car driven Foster Johnston, of Tinwald. Keith was travelling south. The car was forced against the concrete wall of the bridge, the wire-spoked wheel being torn away, and the mudguard and radiator dented. The front of the truck was also damaged. WOMAN INJURED Slight concussion was suffered by Mrs Patterson, of 258 Ferry road, when she was knocked off her cycle by a motor-car at the intersection of Barbour street and Ferry road at 5.45 p.m yesterday. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
