FATHER CHRISTMAS STICKS IN THE CHIMNEY
Father Christmas was very fat. He had been eating so many sweets to see il they
were good for the stockings. He had also been tasting Christmas puddings. He had such a hard time getting down the chimneys. One chimney was very tight. He pushed and pushed but he
.couldn’t get down. Poor Father Christmas was stuck tight. “Oh, dear,” he said, “I won’t be able to get my toys taken round.” Mr Chimney felt very sad. “Perhaps if I stretch myself,” he said, “you may be able to slide down.” He stretched as hard as he could and loosened a lot ol bricks. Then Father Christmas slid down, and all the children got their toys. . Only poor Mr Chimney still had a few bricks missing. —PAULINE HEALEY (aged 5), 15 Tonks street, North Beach.
