ANNUAL CARNIVAL
NEW BRIGHTON MUNICIPAL BAND
To-morrow the New Brighton Municipal Band will open its annual carnival, lasting until January 21. The Minister for Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) has consented to officiate, assisted by the Mayor of New Brighton (Mr E. L. Smith). There will be a children’s dress parade, headed by the band. A bonfire has been provided, and a display of fireworks will take place at 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve.. A sports programme has been arranged, and numerous competitions will be held for children.
