LACCESS TO STEAMER WHARF
{APPEAL FOR CO-OPERATION OF MOTORISTS
The new system of traffic control at Hie steamer express wharf in LyttelSon has been put into operation, but feccording to information received by (the Automobile Association from the Railway Department some motorists pre absuing it and causing a great deal of difficulty. Under this new system, motorists are lallowed to cross the railway lines to the wharf to set down passengers and luggage, but they must return as soon ps they have done this. The Railway Department reported to the Automobile Association yesterday that some motorists were not leaving jfche wharf to make room for others | Sifter setting down their passengers. The secretary of the association (Mr JET. S. Hawkes) appealed last evening to all motorists to co-operate with the Stairway Department in this scheme. EFhe interests of motorists themselves jwere at stake, he said, and strict compliance with the department's request to set down passengers and leave the ■wharf as quickly as possible was absolutely necessary. He emphasised that motorists, after returning from the wharf, could park their cars in Norwich quay for as long as they liked.
