LOCAL ELECTIONS IN POLAND
Government Group Defeated
ONE-PARTY STATE NOT FAVOURED
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received December 21, 9 p.m.) WARSAW, December 20. More complete returns in the municipal elections show that the Government, or National Unity, camp elected 333 councillors, the National Democratic Party (Right Opposition) 407, Socialists 174, Jews 56, Labour 53, Germans 16, others 77.
The newspapers almost unanimously regard the returns as an accurate reflection of political opinion, finally disposing of the Government's conception of a one-party State. __
