DISMISSAL OF MOTORMAN
CASE BEFORE TRAMWAY APPEAL BOARD
"EXECUTIVE OFFICERS ACTED RIGHTLY"
An appeal by Edwin Henry Boyce, formerly a motorman, against his dismissal from the employ of the Christchurch Tramway Board was dismissed by the Tramway Appeal Board at a sitting yesterday morning. The board consists of Mr H. A. Young, S.M. (chairman) and Messrs J. Mathison and J. A. "Webb. Mr C. S. Thomas represented the appellant and Mr J. D. Hutchison appeared for the Tramway Board. ....', After hearing evidence from appellant in support of his case and from three tramway officers for the defence, the board announced that it was satisfied that, in all the circumstances, the executive officers of the Tramway Board acted rightly in dismissing appellant. The appeal would be accordingly dismissed. The question before the Appeal Board was whether the demerit marks with which appellant's record had been weighted justified his dismissal from the Tramwajr Board's .emplojSi __,
