CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS AT WAIMATE
ARRANGEMENTS MADE FOR SHOPS Arrangements for the observance of holidays in retail shops at Waimate during the Christmas and New Year period were made at a fairly representative meeting of businessmen yesterday morning. The meeting decided that all retail shops would have a late night on Friday, December 23, when all shops, with the exception of grocers, will close at 10 p.m., grocers remaining open only until 9 p.m. Shops will be shut on the Monday and Tuesday of each week and will be closed at noon on December 24 and on December 31.
