THE FEDERATION OF LABOUR
♦ MEETING OP EXECUTIVE (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELKOSAM.) WELLINGTON, November 8. The stoppage of work at the Otahuhu railway workshops, the Second Court of Arbitration, and dissatisfaction over the recent drivers’ award were among matters discussed by the executive of the New Zealand Federation of Labour to-day. The meeting is a preliminary to the periodical meeting of the National Council of the Federation on November 22, the main object of the executive meeting being to arrange business for the council meeting. Council meetings are those at which policy matters are dealt with, and, accordingly, the decisions arrived at may be of far-reaching consequence. There are 18 trades councils affiliated to the federation, and representatives are to be present from these in addition to other Labour representatives.
