♦— — AMATEURS WILL MOVE TO RUGBY PARK 5/- LEVY FOR GROUND AND COACH « Resentment at having had to pay out a percentage of gate takings and a keen desire to break away from the Lancaster Park Board of Control were expressed at a meeting last night ot the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. A sub-committee had conferred with the Canterburj’ Rug Toy Union proposing to lease Rugby Park, and this plan was decided upon last evening. “We must cultivate a public psychology that Rugby Park is the home of athletics,’’ said Mr I. M. Willoughby. The public would then come to meetings there. To cover the expense, a levy of as a season will now be made upon club members when they register, and this will also cover the cost of coaching, which will be provided by A. L. Fitch. Country members who will not -be using Rugby Park for their training ground and will not be using the services of the coach will not be required to pay this levy. The application of the Ashburton Club to have a sports meeting on Labour Day was granted, and the application for affiliation of the newly- ■ formed Greymouth Club was sent to l the New Zealand Council for coni, sideration. ! PRESBYTERIAN CLUB \ ANNUAL MEETING HELD > The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Athletic Club was held in the Pioneer Sports Club last evening. The annual report arid balance-sheet showed that the last season was a very successful one from every point of view.. Trophies won during the season were presented. The Poison Cup for the most points scored went to H. C. Weatherhead for the third successive season. R. Fuller received the Charley Gordon medal. The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows:—President, the Rev. A. C. Watson; vice-presidents, Messrs W. A. Poison, M. Dickson, A. McEldowney, S. Fuller, J. J. Brownlee, the Rev. R. Brown, and the Rev. Gordon Taylor; club captain, Mr L. A. Poison; deputy- ' club captain, Mr C. Gordon; secretary, - Mr J. Patterson treasurer, Mr P.
