“ROUND THE GORGES” ROAD RACE
SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Next Saturday the “round-the-gorges” road race, of 100 miles, which‘is now recognised as the classic of New Zealand amateuivcycling, will be conducted by the FapanuKAmateur Cycling Club. The event will decide tlie South Island road championship, and the 100 miles junior championship of Canterbury, and will start from Papanui at 9.45 a.m. The course Will be the same as in previous years, embracing Rangiora, Oxford, the Glentui. Ashley, and Waimakariri gorges, Rolleston, and finishing at the Addington trotting grounds shortly after 2.45 p.m. A moving picture Will be taken at certain vantage points throughout the race, including the start and finish, and -interesting incidents.
