SUCCESSFUL DANCE
A successful dance organised by a committee of the North Beach Gala and Foreshore Improvement Society, in aid of its funds, was held in the Memorial Hall on Saturday evening. Amongst those present were the members of the Otago Association football team, representatives of the Canterbury team and visitors from the West Coast, and Mr Hiram Hunter. The organising committee comprised Messrs W. E. S. Furby (chairman), A. Cooksley, F. H. Johnson, F. S. Norrie, R. D. Martin, Mesdames W. E. S. Furby (secretary) and R. Parker. Music was played by the Jaget orchestra. Mr R. Parker was master of ceremonies. The Mayor (Mr E. L. Smith) welcomed the visiting footballers and congratulated the Otago team on its win. Messrs E. Stenhouse (Otago) and M. A. Gordon (Canterbury) thanked the Mayor for the welcome. Amongst those present were the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs E. L. Smith), Mesdames W. E. S. Furby, R. Parker, H.
