SIXTEEN KILLED BY BOMB
EXPLOSION
JERUSALEM, August 26. It is officially stated, that 16 were killed and 30 were injured when a powerful bomb exploded in the Arab market at Jana. This was followed - by -sniping, stoning, and arson. , , The police fired on Arabs who were attacking police stations and troops are checking looting at Jaffa and Tel Aviv. • . Fire brigades are fighting a senes of outbreaks. The shops and banks are closed. A daylight curfew was imposed at Jaffa at noon to-day, after which the situation improved. A passenger train was partially derailed yesterday on the Tel Aviv line near Lydda. There were no casualties, but traffic is still suspended by the damage. _
