FRALEY INJURED IN BOUT
(press Association telegram.) WANGANUI. August 28. Leo Numa beat Rat Fraley on Saturday night in the sixth roUhd. When the latter was unable to continue through an injury. Numa secured a .fall In the third round wih a body press after dumping Fraley with a hammer throw. Fraley equalised when the fifth round commenced with a submission fall from a dying toehold. When the sixth round began Fraley connected . with • two drop-kicks. Numa going through the ropes. .Just as Numa was re-entering the ring Fraley tried another drop-kick, but Injured himself Oh the top rope and was Unable to continue. The bout did not come up to the standard expected.
DETTON BEATS MOEN AT WESTPORT
WESTPORT, August 28. Dean Detton was never in danger of being beaten by Andy Moen In them wrestling match at Westport last bight, and Detton, a former world champion, secured the only fall of the contest in the eighth round. ■ Moen proved himself a versatile matmah, but was not in the same class as Detton who seemed to be Working very quietly all through the bout. ThriUs were at a minimum and the contest was seldom exciting. Both meh indulged in seriods of showmanship, which at times proved humorous to the large attendance, in the final round Detton bounced Off the ropes to take a fall with a body scissors and press.
