■ r-"f ; . . ACTION AGAINST MR B, AHLFEU) CLAIM FOR £IOO DAMAGES A claim for £IOO as damages, made by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr R. M. Macfarlane) against Mr.B. Ahlfeld, has been set down' for hearing in the. Magistrate’s Court at Christchurch on September 13. Both Mr Macfarlane and Mr Ahlfeld are candidates in the Parliamentary elections for the Christchurch North seat. The summons for this • amount .was issued yesterday by. Mr Macfarlane through his solicitor (Mr K, G. Archer). The grounds for the action are stated to be the contents of a. pamphlet alleged to have been issued by Mr Ahlfeld, in which certain references to the Mayor were made.
