CANTERBURY AUTO-CYCLE CLUB Fixtures:— August 20—Novelty afternoon. September 4—Sporting trial. An interesting course has been chosen for to-morrow’s social trial, and competitors are asked to assemble at Victoria square at 1.45 p.m., and will be dispatched at minute intervals from 2.15 p.m. The course will embrace Sumner, Lyttelton, and Governor’s Bay, returning via Dyer’s Pass road, at the foot of which the trial will finish. A stop will be made at Governor’s Bay, when competitors will be the guests of the club at afternoon tea. The trial- will include a courtesy section, several observed sections, and a stop and restart test. This eyent is open to solo, pillion, and side-car classes, and post entries will be received up to the time of starting.

PIONEER MOTOR CLUB Fixtures August 27—Social Sporting. Trial. September 3—Social Run. September 10 and 11—Two-day run to Wainui (in conjunction with the Corsair Motor Club). September 24—Scramble. An interesting trial will form the opening sporting event in the Pioneer Motor Club’s activities for the new season, and will be held to-morrow week over an exceptionally good course. Leaving Christchurch, competitors will pro.ceed through Motukarara to Gebbies Pass, thence to Kennedy’s Bush, where the afternoon tea stop will be held at the Sign of the Bellbird, well known to members of the Pioneer Motor Club. From there the trial will continue via the Summit road and Evans’ Pass back to Christchurch. Many popular tests will be run in conjunction with the trial. An exceptionally interesting weekend is promised members of both th Corsair and the Pioneer Motor Clubs early next month, when a combined run to Wainui, combining women’s and men’s basketball matches, motor sports and a dance will be held. Extensive arrangements are being made for transoort. billeting, and the social and sporting events, and a great deal of inter est is already being taken in the event, arrangements for which are now well in hand. A further announcement will be made 'in the course of the next few days. A limited amount of motor-cyck parking at concession rates is available to members in close proximity to the clubrooms and the Square. Further particulars may be obtained from the secretary. An extensive programme of light car events is now in course of preparation by the sports committee, and ■ is attracting much attention from light car owners. CORSAIR MOTOR CLUB The general meeting, held, on , Tuesday night In the Railway Hall, was well attended. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Captain. Mr B; Wisely; vice-captain, Mr W. Alexander; sports committee, Messrs M. Wear, C. Mooar, and J. Lang; recorder, Mr N. McGinn; minutes secretary, Mr B. Wisely. A varied and interesting programme has already ' been arranged for the coming half season, and the committee has every confidence that the events will prove to be satisfactory. The opening run will be held oh August 28 at a spot not far from town. The destination is to be announced later.
