BANK ROBBERY IN PALESTINE
GANG-LEADERS’ ALLEGED NEED OF FUNDS JERUSALEM, August 10. An armed gang held up Barclay’s Bank at Nablus and escaped with £SOOO.
The Jewish press reports that gang leaders, worried by the cutting off of funds from abroad, have decided to raise £25.000 locally, and suggests that the hold-up will be the forerunner of others.
The Colonial Office has been advised from Palestine that the mili*tary yesterday engaged a small party of armed Arabs in Tulkarm and Quarlquilliya, killing one bandit and wounding two. There were no casualties among the troops.
