WORKMEN BEGIN DEMOLITION
NUREMBURG, August 10
“We are tearing down this synagogue, not because it is a synagogue, but because its presence mars the appearance of the mediaeval tc /n,” said Herr Julius Streicher, editor of the anti-Jewish paper “Der Stunner,” in a speech when workmen began to demolish the building. They removed the Star of David from the dome amid the cheers of the crowd.
