CANADA’S TRADE POLICY
OPPOSITION TO PACT WITH UNITED STATES CALGARY, August 10. “Economic suicide is threatening Canada under the proposed threeway United Kingdom-United EjtatesCanada trade pact,” said Mr R. B. Bennett, at a Conservative meeting. “A system of family preference has been established among the British nations and now the United States wants to penetrate into the United Kingdom markets. The Canadian Prime Minister (Mr W. L. Mackenzie King) is willingly giving away preference and privilege for a chance to enter the United States markets. Theie will be a disaster if Canada thus sells out.”
