To-morrow the Railway Department will nm an excursion to Arthur’s Pass, leaving Christchurch at 8 a.m. Present conditions indicate that there will be a good depth of snow within easy reach of the township. In this issue the Railway Department advertises particulars of cheap excursion fares and special train arrangements for the G.rand National races on August 9, 11. and 13, the trotting meeting at Addington on August 6, 10, and 12, and the New Zealand Industries Fair at Christchurch from August 6 to 20.
