FIVE SPEAKERS YESTERDAY
DISCUSSION EXPECTED TO LAST ANOTHER WEEK [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.! WELLINGTON, July 29. The debate on the Budget was continued in the House of Representatives to-day, five speakers taking part. Since the commencement of the debate 30 members have given their views, 19 from the Government side, nine from the Opposition, and two independents. Two minor bills were introduced this morning, the Dairy Industry Amendment Bill and Stock Amendment Bill, but neither provoked much debate. Argument on the Financial Statement has proceeded on strictly party lines. It is expected that it will last till the end of next week at least. The House rose a 5.30 for the week-end adjournment.
