WATERFRONT FIRE AT VANCOUVER
HEAVILY-STOCKED FREIGHT SHEDS DESTROYED VANCOUVER, July 27. A fire in the Canadian Pacific docks caused damage estimated at 3,500,000 dollars. Heroic crews ran tugs through the flames and pulled three coastal steamers from the blazing docks. Three tugs pulleo the Empress of Russia, which was loading for the Orient, into the stream. Heavily stocked freight sheds under the docks were destroyed. Four firemen were hurled "tattle harbour by a gas explosion. They were rescued by fishermen.
