WORK IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS
♦ —— RESOLUTION TO BE SENT TO MINISTER (FBES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, July 27. Fears for the future of private ho«pitals were expressed at a conference of representatives of 12 Taranaki hospitals, which discussed the new hours of work regulations. A resolution, to be submitted to the Director-General of Health (Dr. M H. Watt) and the Minister for Health (the Hon. Fraser), was passed as follows; . In view of the difficulties of securing staff and the convenience of employees we feel that representation should be made to the Department of Health for more elasticity tn hours (especially in the matter of mealhoum being excluded from the 4S-hour working week) and that our staff may be compensated for the extra hours of work in rush periods by the receipt of an annual holiday.
