ST. ANDREW’S COLLEGE

OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION ANNUAL DANCE AT WINTER GARDEN During recent years the loyalty of former students of St. Andrew’s College, and the interest of parents of present students in the activities of the college, have been put to a severe test by the weather. Sports day is usually heralded by rains which have left the lawns wet underfoot, but old boys arrive in large numbers armed with rugs and umbrellas. The annual dance held last evening by the Old Boys’ Association was another test, but old boys and their friends, undaunted by the continuous rain, cheerfully forsook their firesides confident that on arrival at the Winter Garden they would find warmth, colour, and gaiety, and most important—the companionship of former fellow students. The comfort of the guests had indeed been the main consideration of the committee, which comprised lac newly“Clected president of the assoelation, Mr J. A. Henry, Messrs Keith Wallace, W. A. C. McDonald, G. O. Morrison, R. B. Hamilton, L. A. Lilly, F. A. Bull, R. G. Anderson, and Dr. A. M. Hartnell. Highland dances by the Caledonian Dancers” and the entrance of St. Andrew’s Pipe Band with the accustomed ceremonial gave a Scottish flavour to the evening’s programme, for which dance music was supplied by the Bailey-Marston orchestra.
