♦- NEW ZEALANDERS FOR TRAINING SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES ANNOUNCED [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, July 27. A further selection has been made of candidates foy short service commissions in the Royal Air Force. The names of the selected candidates were announced this evening by the Minister for Defence (the Hon. F. Jones). The following 12 candidates will report to the Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, and Wellington aero clubs on September 12 to commence their initial training;—W. I. Anstey (Timaru), W. G. T. Brooks (Christchurch), W. A. Foster (Christchurch), J. F. Gavin (Tauranga), J. C, F. Hayter (Port Hardy, d’Urville Island), J. E. Hull (Wellington), R. J. McCrorie (Wanganui), H. L. Qakley (Ashburton), B. W. Peryman (Christchurch), D. L. Pritchard (New Plymouth), R. W. Roots (Wellington), A. E. Wickham (Christchurch). The following 18 candidates have been selected for direct entry into the Royal Air Force, and are to sail from New Zealand on August 25: E. M. Hales (Wellington), G. L. B. Harris (Wellington), J. E. Harris (Wellington), J. F. Hayes (Christchurch). L. R. Jacobsen (Wellington), D. S. Johnston (North Auckland), j. A. Lattimer (New Plymouth), S. J. Lester (Nelson), A. C. Mcßae (Wellington), G. L. Martin (Timaru). R. J. Meek (Wellington), V. A. Pedersen (Te Kuiti), D. H. Robertson (Westport), G. M. Simpson (Dunedin), D. J. Slellin (Wellington), L. E. Taylor (Christchurch), R. J.
