♦ HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION SUCCESS OF CAMPAIGN FOR FUNDS Efforts to raise' money for the erection of an assembly hall at the Christchurch Boys’ High School were the chief activities of the Old Boys’ Association during the year,' according to the report to be presented to the annual meeting of the association this evening. Plans have been prepared for the building and tenders called for its erection. The success of the campaign for funds begun at a meeting on June 10, 1937, has justified the calling of tenders, states the report. A' gift of £IOOO from Mr J. R. McKenzie is acknowledged in the report, which also thanks the Parents’ Association for its support. The report congratulates the school on its achievements on the sports field and academically .and states that the football, cricket, and athletic clubs of the association have had successful seasons. A new branch of the association has been formed on Banks Peninsula. The financial statement shows that the year’s operations have resulted in a surplus of £45 11s 2d. Assets are shown to exceed liabilities by £lsl 0s lOd, and the total funds of the three clubs amount to £244 10s Id.
