PACK RUNS RESUMED

RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S EVENTS Cross-country runners resumed their pack runs on Saturday, with trails over flat and hill country. Details are as follows: CHRISTCHURCH From the Pier Tearooms. Sumner, the Christchurch Club followed a trail laid by E. Knight and E. L. Cordery. Members were the guests of two members, D. H. Pannell and S. Palmer. Results were:— Fast Pack—C. Dickie 1, D. PRESBYTERIAN The Presbyterian Club ran from Circuit street. St. Albans, as guests of Mr and Mrs Hamilton. The packs followed a trail of six miles through Papanul, Fendallon. and Harewood. Watson 3. Intermediate Pack—T. Scully 1, F. Scully 2. A. O’Connell 3. Slow Pack—E. Haughey 1, P. Sharp 2, J. O’Brien 3. BAPTIST The Baptist packs were guests of Mr and Mrs C. W. Eagle. ANGLICAN Members of the Anglican Club ran from St. Stephen’s, Hills road. Shirley. The packs followed a short trail through Marshland, laid by J. F. Booker and K. E. Innes. The Methodist Club ran from the Beckenham Methodist Church as the guests of the Young Ladies’ Bible Class. H. E Thomas, W. H. Harris, and D. J. Barkman laid a trail of six miles over hilly country. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES* PIONEER CLUB

The club members were the guests of Mrs W. Herbert. Rotherham street, Riccarton. The trail, laid by N. Rossiter and K Lee, led up Peverel street, across paddocks to Division street, down Blenheim road, and across to the railway yards, then alone the train line, across country to Semple street, and home via Straven road and Riccarton road.

Savidan made a notable return to harrier radngomSaturdav afternoon, when he won the Onehunga to Auckland road race, conducted by the Technical Athletic Club. The distance was 71 miles. Savidan led. from the start, and was never challenged. His time was 36mln 57sec J. I. B. Nell was second, his time being 37mln 19sec, with R. Crompton third in 37mln 36sec. >
