WELLINGTON, July 3.

The weather forecast for Canterbury and Marlborough, issued at 5 p.m. by he Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows:

Moderate to strong south-west to southerly winds, reaching gale force in exposed positions. Weather changeable and showery, with hail in places and snow on the ranges. Temperatures colder. Seas rough to high.

WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is;—

Strong: south-west to southerly winds to gales. Weather still unsettled, with intefrrtittent rain. Hail in places and snow on the ranges. Temperatures colder. Seas high,

DOMINION The following is the Dominion forecast: —

Weather changeable and with heavy showers at times in most districts, more especially in the South Island and the western districts of the North Island. Some show on the ranges, with hail in places. Temperatures colder. An exceptionally deep depression is centred east of Marlborough. Pressure has risen somewhat over eastern Australia.

Winds —West to south-west over the North Island and south-west to southerly over the South Island, moderate to strong generally, and reaching gale force in many places. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Moderate in coastal waters, but otherwise rather rough to rough on the east coast. Rough to high on the west coast. Eastern Tasman Sea—South-west to southerly gales and high seas.

Auckland: Boisterous weather, with heavy showers of rain and severe squalls, was experienced during the week-end. Saturday afternoon was «irty fine, but rain fell during the hight and at intervals on Sunday. A fresh westerly wind prevailed.
