WEDDING

DUNCAN—JOHNSON

A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Church, Clarkville, on June 4, when Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Johnson, only daughter of Mr and Mrs George Johnson, was married to Ronald, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Duncan, Monck’s Spur, Redcliffs. The Rev. T. M. Curnow performed the ceremony, and Miss Jean Smith, of Clarkville, was organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a marina blue tailored frock, with shirred bodice and buttons on the sleeves, front, and centre back. Her halo hat, relieved with gold, matched her accessories, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses, chrysanthemums, and freesias. Miss Margery Duncan, the bridegroom’s sister, attended the bride. She wore a henna tailored frock and hat to match, and carried a bouquet in shades to tone. Mr Gordon Duncan attended his brother as best man. The bride, on leaving the church, was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Miss Julia Tozer. . The reception was afterwards held in the Clarkville Peace Hall where the bride’s mother received the guests. She wore a navy tailored costume and hat to match and white silk blouse relieved with blue. Her bouquet was of dark red roses, gladioli, chrysanthemums, and anemones. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Duncan, wore a bottle green tailored costume and hat to tone and her bouquet was of cream roses and chrysanthemums. Many guests were' later entertained at a most enjoyable post wedding dance. —®
