VISIT TO FRANCE POSTPONED
QUEEN TO ACCOMPANY KING IN JULY LONDON, June 23. It is - officially announced that Their Majesties will visit Paris from July 19 to 22. The King will unveil the Australian war memorial at Vil-lers-Bretonneux on July 22. After a period of suspense the postponement of the visit to Paris to the dates mentioned was announced, with the indication that the suggestion came from the French President (M. Le Brun). Their Majesties were deeply appreciative of .the motives, and gladly accepted. The news of the Countess’s death shocked Paris, and strangers stopped English visitors in the streets and expressed sympathy. Everybody is delighted that a solution has been found permitting the Queen to accompany the King. Condolences have been received at the Palace from all parts of the world, including the Pope and King Victor Emmanuel of Italy.
