CONCERT GIVEN BY CHILDREN

CANTERBURY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY There was a good attendance of members and friends at the Caledonian Hall on Wednesday evening, when the Canterbury Caledonian Society held its fortnightly social. Mr C. S. Thomas presided and was assisted by Mr G. Sey (vice-president). Two new members were elected. The following juvenile members and friends of the society gave items: — Iris Ellwood, Leslie Ashbey, Peggy Sloane, 1938 pupils Noeline Gibbard, Fay Carter, Beverley Crozier, Eaneas and Jean Chisholm, Alma Kennedy, James Rendel, Helen Cameron, Ann Holmes, Ngaire Brown, June Challis and Pauline Hughes. Geoffrey Hill, Margaret Josling, Ngaire Smail, Christopher ' Armstrong and Nita Mayo, Joy Kerr, Billie Armstrong Misses E. McLean and C. Bartlett, June Lummis, Ken. Boniface, Norma Bird, Joan Knight, Rita Stanley and Margaret Smith, Litsler Burnet, Una and Bonnie Saunders, Nita Mayo and Donald Cameron, Chrissie Armstrong and Max Winterbourne, Dorothy Day. Selections were played by the society’s pipe band. The accompanist was Mr G. C. Russell.
